As bad as 2008 was, 2012 brutally kicked 2008’s ass.           

The genesis of what shaped up to be a truly awful year actually started in late 2011. At the time I was getting most of my content writing work from one client who got himself into legal hot water and stopped paying me for my work. Around the same time, I was laid off from a part time job I had working at a CD jewel case factory. With CDs sales down, the need for jewel cases also was starting to diminish. The Spinal Tap effect also continued, as I ended up losing another roommate to marriage. At that moment we were down to two of us splitting the rent for a four bedroom house.
