“Go where?” Judith was genuinely curious.
“To the one place I know you’ll be relaxed enough to sleep.”
“I don’t want to go to the cabin,” Judith said.
“No, not the cabin,” Eddie answered. “I’ve got somewhere better in mind. You’ll see.”
Judith smiled, perhaps the first genuine smile she’d had in weeks. All these years and Eddie was still surprising her. Taking care of her. Knowing her better than she knew herself.
