Well that’s it. I don’t have a family anymore. And you know what? I think I’m relieved. No more passive aggressive dinners. No more constant critiques of my clothes of my schooling of my jobs of my life. I’ve gone and sinned the ultimate sin – I fell in love with someone who isn’t Japanese. But, I mean, come on… of course I did, right? THEY are the ones that wouldn’t allow us to speak Japanese in the house. THEY are the ones that wouldn’t even let us learn it. THEY are the ones that told us to dress like everyone else, to talk like everyone else, to show the world we are AMERICANS. They made us sing the Star-Spangled Banner and say the Pledge of Allegiance and bow to every holiday and pastime possible. Never has a family more... Please subscribe to keep reading.
