“We haven’t discussed it.” I offered.

“It may be a non-issue.” Victor countered.

“What do you mean by that?” Sigmund asked.

“I spoke to my superiors and I received approval to offer both of you a spot on my team.”

“Excuse me?” I blinked, not sure I heard correctly.

Victor’s right hand disappeared inside his jacket, and withdrew with two gold colored badges he laid on the table.  

“Effective immediately.”

“On your team?” I repeated numbly.

“Yes.”

“The both of us?” Sigmund questioned.

“You seem surprised.”

“I never considered myself FBI material.”
