“How are you feeling?”
“Like a demon threw me into a wall two days ago. Ow by the way.”
I muted the television and turned my attention to Lachlan. For the past half hour I listened to him tinkering around in my kitchen. He returned to the living room with nothing else to show for his time away, and the noise, other than a cup of hot tea. Delicious hot tea, but still, just a cup of tea.
Oddly enough, even in the summer, a cup of hot tea made me feel instantly better. Even if it did mean a lower setting on the air conditioner. I earned it.
I vocalized the painful protest from my ribs when Lachlan raised my legs enough to reposition my calves onto his thighs.
