They trained us how to fight monsters, but training does not prepare a person for demon combat actualized. A six inch blade was like a tooth pick next to his razor sharp claws. The chain around my neck served to both hinder me and work as a vehicle for Durabas to pull me close, or off balance. Depending on which suited his needs more at that moment.
I curled part of it around my forearm to help lessen the abrupt jerk to my neck, and tried to use it as a ranged weapon, but chain fighting isn’t as easy as it looks in the movies. He effortlessly dodged my first two attempts and on the third, grabbed hold of the chain and pulled me close.
