Every door I encountered refused to budge no matter how much I pulled at the latches, and he was getting closer. I couldn’t see him but I knew he gained ground. 

“Your wickedness drove him away. Just as it killed your mother.”

Finally a hatch gave way to a set of stairs that took me deeper into the boat. The darkness complete and oppressive.  I stumbled upon the stairs to hell.

“You belong to your father now.”
