The stench of sulfur burned my nose.

I wrenched my body free of Durabas’ hold the moment my feet touched ground and ended up painfully on my ass for my efforts. I looked around, shocked to find myself in the familiar surroundings of Lincoln Park. I recognized the overpass for foot traffic and the interior harbor to my right from the multiple times I jogged by in the mornings.

Durabas loomed over me. That too wide smile revealed a multitude of sharp teeth. He still looked human, mostly, though nothing like the man I chased down outside the club nearly a week ago, the wrongness coming from him, nauseated me. I sensed it while I chased him that night. I just had no idea what name to give it. Now I did.
