“Koi and Oren, especially Koi, will always stand with me, as I stand with them.”

“And your father? Your brother?”

“Shamus and I barely speak now, if we cease all further communication it will be of little consequence. As for my father,” I contemplated the best way to finish the sentence. “If he refuses to accept her that is his decision to make.”

“And if he denounces you?”

“That is also his decision to make.” I answered. 

My shoulders slumped in defeat. Had my rush to action once again placed myself and those I care for in a precarious position? I could not in confidence answer that question with a resounding no.

“Do you think I have made a mistake?”...
