I looked to Lachlan, but he remained silent. Instead of answering, he moved behind me and tunneled his hands under my shirt. He worked the salve into my skin from my shoulders all the way down my back. Komen’s presence became an awkward distraction to the thoughts in my head. Every time Lachlan’s fingers brushed down my side I wondered, if not for Komen’s presence would he curve them around to caress my stomach even though the harpy’s blood hadn’t touched me there?
