The two frontal assaulting harpies distracted Lachlan. The one that attacked me wanted me incapacitated, but not dead. They knew I would run, they just underestimated how much I would fight when cornered.
I ended the shower after I rinsing the conditioner from my hair. I hadn’t realized we were in motion, but with the shower off I heard the boat’s motor churning water. I wanted to be annoyed that he left the harbor without clearing it with me, but my waning adrenaline spike left me too tired to care.
