“I wish you could have seen it,” Darkmoor said, ignoring Nathaniel’s question. “I wish you could have witnessed the glory of a million faithful souls pouring out from the city gates.”

“Then it’s true,” Nathaniel thought. “They’ve all left. The city is empty.”

“Of course,” Darkmoor continued, “I had to watch from a distance. But when I saw that vision… that was when I knew. God has not abandoned us. There is a plan for us after all.”

“A plan?” Nathaniel asked. “You think this is what God wants?!”
