“Of course they don’t,” he replied sternly.
Annyka looked him up and down, pursing her lips and raising one eyebrow, and then stood, grabbed her bag, and threw it over her shoulder. Ashidi was right behind her.
“Then I guess we have nothing else to talk about,” she said, and then with her sister at her side she turned and headed off once more into the night.
He scowled at her, and picked up his pack to follow as he replied under his breath:
“Couldn’t agree with you more.”
