Chapter 9

The days passed, and the journey progressed. Every night, they departed just after sunset, making their way ever deeper into the rifts and climbs of the hills, travelling mainly by starlight for the moon rose later each night. In the safety of those hills, they managed to find shelter every morning before the sun’s searing face appeared.
