An uncategorized individual is terrifying.

     We don’t carry our own personal stamp of approval anymore. We have our community’s stamp to use. We give our stamp to what is expected of us as members of a community. There is strength in numbers. It is harder to cancel a community than an individual. We need the security of community. Things and people are easily cancelled now more than ever. Our tastes are judged like political beliefs, and political hate speech is dirtier than ever. The judges are tough, the verdict is swift, and the sentence is long. It is a fast world, but we are the slowest set of mankind when it comes to forgiving and forgetting people’s approval of our disapproval.
