I see the glow in their eyes when they see me. I feel it in the firmness of their handshakes. I sense it when they talk about my future. They see what I can be. They want what I can become. I want that too. I carry myself as such. There is a distant between me and my great self; a gap filled with things that must be done. The gap is a working progress defined by time. Why are they disappointed by the process? Could I be the one they finally find overnight success suited for? We say we don’t care what people think about us but that’s not always the case—not when they are waiting for you to shine. 

     Their endorsement for my success is overwhelming. My eyes and theirs has been on the destination for a while now, not on the journey....
