Chapter 23

   “Good bye, Miss Alice,” each of the little ones in her dance class bid her as they changed their shoes and put on their coats. 

   “Bye, bye, Pam,” Alice said, as the last twelve-year-old ran to her mother's arms. After they left the studio, she locked the front door behind them. Going into the empty office, she sat down in Mrs. Herzog's chair. Taking the handset from the cradle, she dialed the Taylor residence. 

   The phone rang several times and then a click was heard. “Hello,” a child's voice answered. 

   “May I speak to Dennis,” Alice asked.

   “Who's calling?” the young girl's voice asked....
