   Bernie drove south on Crestmont with Alice sitting in the passenger seat, her school books on her lap.

   “...and Truett says they've got bookings all the way to June,” Alice said. “They get a hundred and fifty a night, that's fifty for each of them, less Truett's fifteen percent. And then, there'll be royalties from the record. Dennis will get about three dollars for every hundred that the record earns. He gets paid on the wholesale price.”

   “Wow, Sis,” Bernie said. “You sure learned a lot about the music business last week. You--you're gittin' pretty serious about Dennis,” he said.
