   The clock, ticking ever forward, continued its march towards midnight. Dennis and the boys retook the stage and struck up again.

   “Your baby brother is very talented,” Alice said, complementing him.”

   “He can sing, alright,” Truett said. “I found a guy with a recording studio off of Calhoun.  We’re gonna make a record.”

   “You don’t say!” Alice said, her eyes opening wide.

   “Yea, a couple of weeks from now,” Truett went on.

   They turned their attention to the stage and listened as the boys

worked their way through several folk ballads.

   Lee Ann turned to her date, “Truett, you ask Alice for a dance.”
