Duane pulled the Bass and a folded metal stand out of its canvas bag. He folded out the stand and set it on the stage. Then he raised the Bass Fiddle by its neck and thumped on the strings, testing each one to see if it was in tune. Lonny returned with a snare drum and bag.  Hoisting the equipment on to the stage, he leaped up after them and then went about setting up the drum kit. He opened the bag and removed two stands as well as some drumsticks, brushes, and a small high-hat set with its stand. He erected the high-hat, adjusting the pedal and top cymbal so that the optimum distance was achieved. To finish, he pulled out yet another stand and a black padded seat about the size of a pie pan.
