“Well, I’m off to study for history.”  I said.

“I should study for that, too.” Darren said.

“What?” I asked, confused.

“Ancient history with Dr. Meyers? Or do you have another history class.”

“I haven’t seen you in there . . . “ I said, realizing he must be in the class and had noticed me.

“I’m like a shadow . . . “ He quipped and flashed me a smile. 

“Well, then, sure, I guess,” I said and he sort-of followed me to the library where we sat across from each other, reading silently.  After an hour and a half, he stretched and I got my books together.
