Much has been written for years about dining in Paris.  Words like tres bon, fantastic, deliciously different, beautiful presentation all become like a tumbling waterfall of pleasure.  However, there are a few nuances to dining that may cause you some displeasure if you're not prepared for them.

Here are a few tips to hopefully smooth out any rough edges.

A really nice restaurant generally requires a reservation.  A sidewalk cafe or bistrot certainly does not.  Many times the better restaurants are closed on Sunday and some even on Mondays (which is a typically slow day in Paris).  Just plan and check before you make plans.
