DCI May listened politely to ACC Alec Rowley, waiting for the point when the Assistant Chief Constable reminded the Detective Chief that the date of May 15th fitted with the predictions pinned on the two previous victims, along with the quotation from psalm 127 verse three: “Children are a heritage from the Lord; offspring a reward from him”.
May reassured his superior that he would be kept fully informed of any and all further developments from now on, but that he did not – at this stage – require additional resources.
