We barely heard ourselves over the pang pang pang of bullets hitting the bronze Confederate army marching through the town towards the dried up river bed and the open air artisanal market. R and I moved one of the cabinets that held all the vinyl to the back door, though we didn’t know what good it would have done against a bronze Confederate army bursting through the walls of our dessicated mall.
We should get to the center of the mall, R said and I wasn’t sure if I agreed with them. Moving to the center might have trapped us if the Science granted the bronze Confederate army a sense of tactics.
We should go to the roof instead and see what’s happening, I said and I realized before R could shake their head that going back up to the roof would be a stupid...
