“You have no idea what these things are - I’m doing us a favor!” Piper argued as she kept her eyes glued on the little girl who would have attacked had Berkleigh not intervened. 

“I have enough of an idea to know it’s stupid to kill them all before we get some answers,” Berkleigh replied as she ran her hand over the sizeable bump on the back of her aching cranium. She got to one knee before an episode of vertigo made her postpone her plans to stand. 

“I’m telling you…”

“And I’m telling you the girl lives… for now…,” Berkleigh looked at Piper as she made the ultimatum, knowing full well the young woman was in total control of...
