delivery. Before Underbrink could ask him what the hell he was talking about, his former partner came at him once more, letting loose a scream that sounded like an animal attacking its prey. Underbrink lowered his pistol and pulled the trigger, Willow’s left kneecap splintering from the force of the bullet propelled through it. Willow collapsed to the floor with barely a sound, despite the fact that his affected leg bent back at an awkward angle on his way down.

“Stop it, Gene! Stop it for Christ’s sake!” Underbrink pleaded as Willow continued to advance towards him, his knife hungry for more of Underbrink’s blood. He slashed away as he crawled along the floor, looking like some kind of malfunctioning animatronic robot instead of a flesh-and-blood human being.
