Chapter Twenty- Five - The Box of Brains

The sound of sirens snapped Piper out of her current mindset of impending doom and replaced it with a sick sense of anticipation. She bolted up from her seated position inside the dense cover of trees framing one side of the road leading to the Van Nostrand estate and made her way to civilization so she may revel in the suffering of someone else to take her mind off her own. She kept up a steady pace cutting through roads, backyards, and other miscellaneous private property until she reached the convergence of all the loud claxons.
