Chapter Twenty-Three - Divided We Fail

She should be dead. By all rights, the explosion that blew the car she and Berkleigh were riding in moments before into so much shrapnel should have torn her body into shreds. Nevertheless, Janelle Townsend managed to crawl away from the wreckage, a collection of gashes and ringing ears her only souvenirs. That fact didn’t mean she would live to see the next sunrise though. Her gunshot wound had reopened and there was a good chance she’d bleed out from that alone.
