“You - what’s your name?”

“My… Maria. My name’s Maria.”

“Doyle. Nice to meet you. Who is he to you?” Grimaldi indicated Ernesto with a movement of his head towards the prone man. 

“Ernesto is my son.”

“Are you going to be able to handle this? This is major surgery and requires a steady hand. I’m two short in that category at the moment,” Grimaldi held his mangled hands up, not that Maria needed a reminder of what had befallen his highly-insured appendages.
