Chapter Twenty - Dinner With Otto

“Oohhh… I feel like hell…,” Janelle moaned as consciousness inevitably, begrudgingly returned. The pain in her abdomen from the gunshot refused to be ignored, making it hard for her eyes to focus on anything inside the dark room where she found herself. 

“Be glad you feel anything. Not my best work, but it could be my last,” Grimaldi’s familiar voice filled the room as Janelle continued to try and get her bearings. After what felt like several minutes of silence, Janelle finally was able to take in her surroundings. She was seated at an extremely long, extremely old dining room table inside the cavernous dining hall of the Van Nostrand estate.
