Chapter Sixteen - Deeper

He couldn’t even remember what he told the cashier - whatever it was, it wasn’t important as long as he left with what he needed. Ricky Gallaway slumped deeper into the cushions of his couch as he clutched the rope. It had to be done. For all the delays and false starts, tonight was the night. It had to be done tonight. He buried his head in his chest and sobbed as the finality of it all washed over his troubled consciousness. 

“Don’t do it…,” Ricky looked up the instant the strange voice hit his ears. Across from him stood a young girl, her arms crossed in front of her chest.  

“Who are you? How did you get in here??”
