Chapter Five - Division by Subtraction 

Berkleigh hated waiting. With a passion. She'd waited long enough when she was on the donor list for a new heart, enough waiting and uncertainty for ten lifetimes. She damn sure wasn't going to wait any longer for anything. 

"C'mon, c'mon… If you stopped for food on the way here…," the attractive, impatient woman muttered as her hands strangled the steering wheel of her nondescript car. Underbrink had a talent for pissing her off, it seemed that was the only thing he had a talent for. If ever there was someone undeserving of what they were, it was him. 

"Hell took you so…!" Berkleigh exploded out of her car at the sight of the pair of headlights cutting through the darkness beh...
