The month of October in 2016 blew by so quickly, almost with the force of a hurricane. Well, I suppose that analogy is suitable since Hurricane Matthew nearly had a direct impact on Southeast Florida. I have lived in the Sunshine State for most of my life, while my wife has for all her existence. And we have dealt with the threat of these unpredictable cyclones. Some years, the storms would line up in the Atlantic or creep up on Florida’s doorstep from the Caribbean, each waiting their turn to wreak havoc. During other storm seasons, hurricanes would steer away from Florida, like a messy toddler fleeing from bath time.
