“Nah, there’s a list, and there are people ahead of him, worse than him, and he has to wait until his name comes up,” Caleb said sadly, his husky, manly voice startling her, and making her realize how long she’d really been gone.

     All the boys she had left were now men, strong, burly, so far away from the kid boys they were.  Their eyes were soft, yet piercing, their arms, brawny, but gentle, their bodies tall and filled out, not scrawny and puny anymore.

     “That’s nnnnnnnnot ffffffffffair,” Cecily lashed out.  “Our ddddddddaed is sick!  He nnnnnnnneeds a nnnnnnnew heart!”
