Peta looked at me and laughed. 'Oh, such a tortured soul. Everything has a meaning?'
'Everything has a meaning', I said. 'I like to find meaning in things. But finding meanings in things like this rope?' I held up an elderly length of rope. '“Knot” my problem'.
Peta put her hand to her mouth and laughed.
'Don't anchor-age him' came a call across the yard. I laughed this time.
'Hey Floooor-ence', I called, putting emphasis on the oooorrrr as I always did.
'Ya lazy son of a Jackson! You promised to help me paint the ferry today'.
