“Oh James, look at it!” Sarah stared intently out the car window up at the old house. “It's so much better than what I could have imagined.” Before James had completely stopped the car, she pushed open her door and hopped out.

“This is better? It's like something out of a slasher film,” he replied, looking towards Sarah who was giving him a look of annoyance. “Oh... yeah. Well, then it's perfect.” He turned off the car and began to unload the equipment for the long night ahead of them. 

Sarah stood outside the gate of the abandoned home, contemplating the direction in which her next novel was going. Writing nonfiction horror about haunted places across America had made her a best-selling author with the first three of her published books...
