Our visit to the Greek island of Naxos, was one that we did not plan extensively. A local suggested we take a “leisurely” hike to Theologos Chapel. It was a tiny church built into a mountain, often the source of pilgrimage.
There were no signs, just one deceivingly steep road to lead us. The higher we climbed, the more challenging it was to breathe, and near the top, the roadway ended. The only path to the entrance was over a steep, rocky hill. One foot forward and we stepped directly into a wind tunnel.
