Stagnant

The cycle must break but its pattern has become

Too overly predominant to quickly be erased.

Speak what is meant and mean what is spoken.

Give what wanted in return, not the mediocrity

Of the serving that has been given

Set upon the plate before the seat designated for you.

Challenge for change or don’t bitch about accepting

What chose to receive is exactly what was given

Dry the water fountain, no one enjoys the rain

Bring on the fireworks or the deliverance of pain

Break the silence, defend the name

Or walk the walk on down the road

And don’t adjust the rearview mirror

Put away those bedroom eyes,
