The Basics:

• Channillo is a digital publishing platform for writers interested in releasing an ongoing series of work to loyal readers. Such work may include short stories, essays, columns, book chapters, journals, and poetry. New work may be released anywhere from daily to quarterly depending on the series.


• Channillo will distribute 80% of total revenue (after payment processing fees) to the writers. Channillo will be responsible for all of the operating costs of the site including development, hosting, maintenance, customer service, etc.


• The amount of money each individual writer earns is based on the number of Channillo members subscribed to their specific series. Writers not interested in earning may elect to have the money donated directly to a charity of their choice.


• In order to ensure that the quality and type of work released on Channillo remains high, all potential writers must apply for a series and be accepted before they are able to publish work.

All work published on Channillo must:

• Be the original work of the writer (plagiarism will not be tolerated)
• Be legally owned by the writer
• Not currently be available for free anywhere else on the Internet
• Not contain erotica
• Not be overly promotional
• Be written in the English language

-Any content published that is in violation of these rules will be removed from Channillo, and the series may be suspended or canceled.
-Writers retain ownership of any work published on Channillo. A writer may cancel a series and remove their work from Channillo at any time.
-Writers take full responsibility and accountability for everything they publish.

Why should I consider releasing my work on Channillo?

Creating a Channillo series will give you the opportunity to share your writing on an exciting new platform, earn money or support a favorite charity, reach and grow a new audience of loyal readers, and be a part of Channillo's supportive writer community.

What is a series?

A Channillo series is a collection of related (or similar) work released on a regular basis over an extended period of time.

How long can a series last?

As long as you want it to. A series time span can be indefinite (meaning you can keep releasing new work for as many months or years as you wish). In fact, having a long-running series can be a good way to gradually build up a significant number of loyal subscribers. Of course, a series can also be short term with a pre-determined end date if you wish.

Do I have to be a professional writer to apply for a series?

Nope.

Can I publish work that is also available on my blog?

No. Writers are not allowed to publish work that is currently available for free on another website. If you have work available on other websites that you'd like to release on Channillo, you must first remove it from those other sites.

Can I release a series of book chapters on Channillo for a book that I've already self-published?

Yes, as long as the book is not available digitally for free and you own the rights to it.

Why can't I publish work in languages other than English?

We currently don't have the resources to run and monitor a multilingual site. However, we hope to be able to expand Channillo to other languages in the future.

Can I apply for more than one series?

Yes. Writers are allowed to have up to five series. You must apply separately for each series, but be sure to use the same email address so that we can link the applications to your account.
